Oh, Holy Night!

Noche Buena- A Good Night, Indeed!

Noche Buena (good night), is one of the most beautiful, most celebrated nights in hispanic and Spanish culture. It's the night when our families gather to celebrate Christmas, and truly one of the most beautiful traditions we have.

It's the night where we dress up, and gather everyone. We mean all the Tios all the Tias and every Cuban cousin you have. The plan for lechon has been in place and your brother is bringing the Caja China over in the morning. The pig roasts in the backyard as the family elders argue whether it was marinated well enough and whether it's time to flip it.

Inevitably there is a catastrophe with the pork, but somehow it all comes together when it's time to serve (hopefully before 10 PM). The tables are set to Christmas perfection, and the family gathers around a table filled with all the classic traditional food for prayer, and then everyone digs in. There's music that you can almost hear over all the loud conversation, and you know it's going to be a good night.

This newsletter is dedicated to that table. We wanted to celebrate all the traditional fixings you would find at a Noche Buena night in any given house in Miami and all over the world. Find our Perfect Noche Buena Menu HERE

A good night, indeed!

Recipe of the Month

This recipe is here to help alleviate some of those inevitable whole pork problems. Our Slow Roasted Mojo Pernil (Pork Shoulder Recipe is our standout recipe this month. It's a great way to keep the lechon part of the evening very simple. We promise you that making a pork shoulder is actually much easier than it looks. The only thing you will need is time. These guys need anywhere from 4-6 hours (depending on the size), but they hang out in the oven and don't take too much of your time.

It's a can't miss recipe!

Our Perfect Noche Buena Menu

Congri

This is a staple at any Cuban Noche Buena because it is the perfect side to absorb all the delicious mojo flavor from the pork, and it’s so something that is so cheap and easy to put together and will feed a ton of people. Latins love flavor, and love a deal evey more.

Our Christmas Congri Recipe is perfectly traditional. Let us help you make this key part to the Noche Buena Table.

Yuca

Yuca is kind of the underdog of the Christmas table. When the subject of Noche Buena is brought up, very few people will say “Can’t wait for the Yuca”. On Noche Buena, mot people fill their plates with everything else laid out, and maybe throw yuca on their plate just to have a bite.

We strongly feel that Yuca does not always get the credit it deserves. When in reality a good yuca could make your dinner. Let us help you make the perfect Yuca!! ( You can also Check out THIS 45 second video that breaks it all down)

The Perfect Noche Buena Menu Always has Space For Dessert: The Classic Flan

There is no perfect Noche Buena Menu without dessert. The sweet tooth runs deep and it's always good to have a little something sweet to finish up the night.

We think Flan was born for a night like this. It is a classic traditional dessert, that really balances out the rest of the meal. It's something that you can make the night before and easy to slice and serve night of.

Our Classic Flan recipe is a step by step breakdown that will help you make the world's most perfect custard.

Thanksgiving is Really All About the Sides On Thanksgiving, it seems to us that the Turkey gets all the focus and all the praise. However we are strong believers that the sides are what make the meal. You know we are right! The turkey is delicious (or it can be) but it's all the things that you pile on next to the turkey that make the meal memorable and keeps the people coming back for more. This newsletter is dedicated to all our favorite Thanksgiving sides. So if you are looking for a...

If you've been here for a while, you know- Thanksgiving is one of our absolute favorite days of the year! We think hosting it is a badge of honor.
