Happy Labor Day!Happy Labor Day! We are a little embarrassed, but we actually did not know the exact reason we celebrate Labor Day. We did a little google search. Just sharing it here in case anyone else out there wanted to avoid a blank stare whenever their child asks them about the holiday. Labor Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States. It's also one of the top 3 days for grilling in America. This means that grilling on a federal holiday like Labor Day may actually be necessary and patriotic. We are here with a few Grilling Menu Ideas and things you can take in case anyone gives you a last minute invite to their pool. We hope you are each surviving the Back to School wave and that September brings you everything you dream of. We always recommend supplementing with some store bought appetizers or sides. Use the days leading up to the holiday to lessen the prep load. Marinate recipes like the fried chicken or the wings, pre-make sauces and dressings like our Guava BBQ Sauce and Olive Salsa Verde for topping anything that is on the grill. Some recipes taste better when they sit a few days like Black bean dip, Mango Salsa, Tomato salsa. Most of our desserts can be made ahead and really do taste better once they’ve had a chance to setup in the fridge like our No bake key lime pie, Granizado de Mango, Passion Fruit Mousse, Chocolate Brigadeiros and arroz con leche.
